# Build your AI phone assistant
## Step 1: Create your account
Go to the [signup](https://app.vohoai.com) page, enter your name, email address and password or sign in with Google.
## Step 2: Create your first AI phone assistant
1. Navigate to "Assistants" tab
2. Click on "Create an Assistant"
3. Choose a template to get started
## Step 3: Adjust the instruction of you assistant
1. Enter name of your assistant
2. Select the voice
3. Select the language
4. Select instruction templates to start, you can also add a prompt for [knowledge base](https://voho.gitbook.io/voho/build/knowledge-base)
5. Test your agent by clicking "Start Test"
## Step 4: Connect your phone number
You can buy a new phone number or simply import Twilio phone number.

Functionality to buy phone numbers is only available for the US and Canada. For phone numbers from other regions, please use the Import Phone Numbers feature.

### Add payment method
Before buying a phone number, you need to add a payment method to your account
1. Go to the “Settings” tab and click “Billing”
2. Click on "Add payment" and add your card details
### Option 1: Buy phone number
1. Navigate to "Phone Numbers" tab
2. Click on "Buy Number"
3. Select "Country" and write "Area code" then click on "Fetch Numbers"
4. Select phone number from dropdown
5. Click on "Buy number"

### Option 2: Import number
1. Navigate to "Phone Numbers" tab
2. Click on "Import Number"
3. Add "Custom Twilio Phone Number", "Twilio Account SID", "Twilio Auth Token" and "Label" for your phone number
4. Click on "Import from Twilio", this will import the phone number from Twilio
### Select assistant for inbound and outbound calls
Once you buy or import a phone number, link it with AI assistant for getting inbound and outbound calls
1. Select agent for Inbound calls from dropdown
2. Enter phone number including the country code (e.g., `+12137774445`)
3. Select agent for outbound call from dropdown
4. Click on "Outbound Call" to test it
🎉 Congratulations! Your assistant is now live and can:
* Receive incoming calls
* Make outbound calls
* Handle natural conversations
* Process requests 24/7
